Welcome to Mpunzi Lodge
|
| Mpunzi Game and
Nature Reserve is a 600 hectare valley bushveld haven situated only a 40
minutes drive from Port Elizabeth en route to the Cock's Comb Mountains
and further on to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area.
This is a Malaria-free area where nature
lovers can experience the tranquility of the African bush. Whilst the
rays of the setting sun create contrast between high ridges and deep
kloofs, enjoy a sundowner watching majestic kudu or secretive bushbuck
and common reedbuck (rietbok) quenching their thirst at a waterhole.
Other species include springbuck, blesbuck, impala, blue wildebeest
(brindled gnu), common duiker, blue duiker, mountain reedbuck and Cape
Grysbok. |

|
 |
Bird lovers may come across South
Africa's national bird, the blue crane and various other species such as
black kite, steppe buzzard, jackal buzzard and Knysna loerie.
|
|
Hikers venturing into the deep kloofs
will be rewarded with the sight of yellowwood trees, wild olive,
boerboon, Cape chestnut, milkwood, sneezewood, to name but a few.
